The Causeway was inspired by a ride one winter day across The Yolo Causeway, a 5.1 km elevated highway on Interstate 80 that crosses the Yolo Bypass floodplain, connecting the cities of West Sacramento and Davis, California. It's known for crushing, horrible traffic jams, but also for stunning scenic views of wildlife. In the winter months - if the rains are right -the floodplain can appear to be an endless sea. It's beauty and pain at the same time, very much like the life we all lead.

John Scott is the founder and guitarist in dad's impala, a popular Sacramento-area bar band. He's also the founder of The Causeway. Work is underway now on a debut album, then the band will begin public performances of the material in Northern California and beyond. The songs are both dark and hopelessly positive, very much like the life we all lead.
We look forward to sharing our songs with you. Stay tuned!

"If there's one thing I'm good at, it's gathering people together to do something fun."
